HIRO: TELEHEALTH FOR ALZHEIMER'S PATIENTS

Beacon Medical Group challenged our class to develop products to integrate chronic care patients into a telehealth environment. Current platforms are mainly used for critical care patients. There is an opportunity to expand this service to incorporate chronic care patients. These patients visit the doctor as frequently as once a week and will spend an entire day traveling to and from a doctor's appointment. Through bringing these interactions within the telehealth environment, it saves time for both the patient and the doctor. Hiro is designed to monitor the progression of Alzhimer's for more accurate documentation of the disease and titration of medication. Through reminders, memory games. and facilitating doctor's visits, Hiro helps Alzheimer's patients to minimize the progression of the disease, increasing independence for as long as possible. The telehealth platform has been redesigned to make it easy for patients to call in directly from the television. Hiro has all the hardware needed to facilitate the call. Caregivers receive access to resources, as well as guidance from healthcare professionals through the platform.
